Orchard FM and Henderson Properties will be back on their bikes later this month for the 10th Huddersfield Town Pedal for Pounds charity bike ride.
Charity bike ride veteran and Orchard FM chairman Gareth Henderson will be joined by another Pedal for Pounds past master, Graeme Henderson of Henderson Properties, and Orchard colleagues Justin Holley and Jason Taylor.
The 313-mile route has been picked by Town chairman Dean Hoyle and the European cycling adventure will start in Hull with a ferry ride to Zeebrugge. The pedalling will begin in Belgium on April 30 with the teams travelling through Bruges, Antwerp, Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam before catching a ferry back to the UK for the final leg from Hull to Huddersfield in time for Town’s end of season match at home against Manchester United.
The ride will raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Huddersfield Town Foundation, Kirkwood Hospice and Ruddi’s Retreat.
Gareth said: “This is my seventh Pedal for Pounds and the thing that motivates me most is the fact that we are local people with a common goal to support fantastic charities at the heart of our community.
“The money raised over the years has made a significant impact on the work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town Foundation and this year will also support two additional charities, Kirkwood Hospice and Ruddi’s Retreat.”
Graeme Henderson said: “The sense of camaraderie during Pedal for Pounds is always incredible and everyone is committed to supporting each other and raising as much money as possible for good causes.
“We are looking forward to joining old friends and meeting new ones as we pedal for those vital pounds and would like to thank everyone who has sponsored us so far.”
