Orchard Facilities Management MD Gareth Henderson has been invited to be one of the speakers at this year’s Manufactured Yorkshire conference, sharing best practice on the latest compliance issues facing businesses.
With the Health and Safety Executive pushing far harder for higher penalties - £1m fines are becoming the norm and 95% of cases brought to court are resulting in convictions – there is an urgent need for advice and support for organisations.
Having recently run a successful compliance seminar “How to Avoid Being Sued” at Orchard’s new headquarters in Huddersfield, guests at Manufactured Yorkshire 2017 will have an opportunity to hear Gareth share the key points from the presentation.
He will share recent examples of the sorts of fines that are currently being imposed and advise on how businesses can mitigate risk. He will also share tips on streamlining maintenance, testing and paperwork to ensure that compliance best practice is being followed throughout an organisation. By doing so, companies can be prepared for any investigations and are in a strong position to respond to the H&SE in the event of an incident in the workplace.
Made in Yorkshire has officially merged with Manufactured Yorkshire with a view to unifying the manufacturing sector in Yorkshire. The objective is to create a single forum where best practice and thought leadership can be shared year round.
The Manufactured Yorkshire conference is free to attend for manufacturing and engineering businesses and companies with a vested interest in manufacturing including buyers, purchasers, procurement teams, official partner and sponsors.
This year’s event will be held at Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road, Leeds on May 10th. The exhibition opens its doors at 7.30am for networking, breakfast butties and drinks with the seminars starting at 8.00am and running throughout the day. The event finishes at 3.00pm.
