Huddersfield YMCA’s community sports complex has earned the backing of one of the town’s leading businesses as the site prepares for an ambitious sporting future.
Orchard Facilities Management has been unveiled as principal sponsor, giving its name to the venue and providing financial support to help the club press ahead with multi-million pound redevelopment plans and create state-of-the-art sporting facilities for the local community.
From November 1, the 18 acre site will be rebranded the Orchard Facilities Management Sports Park in recognition of the firm’s commitment to helping the YMCA develop the facilities for wider community use.
Steve Graley, Chairman of the Board of the YMCA said: “The partnership between the club and Orchard will go much deeper than financial sponsorship and branding by bringing operational and facilities management expertise to the club which will help us improve efficiency and maximise resources.
“This is a milestone moment for Huddersfield YMCA and comes at a time when we have very clear plans for creating a real hub in the local area for a wide range of sporting activities and events.”
Orchard Facilities Management specialises in the hidden jobs in an organisation that are necessary to keep its buildings and people working well, covering waste management and recycling, IT managed services and estates management.
Gareth Henderson, managing director of Orchard Facilities Management, said: “The vision and determination of the YMCA management team is inspiring and we are really pleased to be involved on both a financial and practical level.
“We have a good deal of experience of working with sports stadiums and clubs across Yorkshire and beyond to help them manage costs and streamline operations and, as a long-established local business and employer, we are looking forward to putting that expertise to good use for the benefit of the community on our doorstep.”
